I just fount out today that there are 5 teams so far in the tourney. Us, St. Mary's, one of the dakota schools I just forgot which one, Stevens Point, and Michigan Tech.
I know Stevens Point is pretty solid so that will be an excellent game, and excellent experience for everyone.
I dont know about you guys but I'm super pumped for this weekend!!!

So the first tournament of the year is done and over with. This past weekend the SCSU Encounter Ultimate team wend down to Winona to play in a tournament with South Dakota, Michigan Tech, St. Mary's, and Steven's Point. Even with about half of the guys coming down and playing with us new to the team and/or new to ultimate we still managed to pull off a couple wins. Watching from the sidelines you could see that there is still things we could work on and improve upon so come our next tournament we will be even better so we can beat the teams that beat us.
There was great play throughout the team that came down. It was easy to see even how much the returners from last year have improved. When we got into our style ultimate we were able to work the disc to where ever we wanted to, it was like watching simple yet beautiful ultimate play. Banks did what he does best when in on Offense, hard in cut for the disc followed by a perfect deep huck for a score. Peter had a spectacular play where he flew out of the side of the endzone to catch the disc, and throw it back in behind him to Nate so he could make a sweet catch right on the line for a greatest. Later on in the first day when Banks got injured we asked Joe to step in as the new deep deep and basically fill Banks's spot. He came in and did outstanding. Dave was getting D's left and right all day long, and even caught one of his own D's for a Callahan. A past Blue Skunk came down and tore up the cutting lanes now as an Encounter. White Bear did was he does best, by playing hard ultimate then subbing out to take his shirt off to try and impress the women spectators... Anyways, overall the first tournament of the year was great experience for everyone.
